The Saturday Environmental Academy is a key project of the Religious Partnership for the Anacostia.

The Academy intends to provide an entirely secular environmental education opportunity based on the Anacostia River, the Potomac Rive and the Chesapeake Bay to a select group of middle school students.

Service opportunities (planting trees, cleaning the shoreline) will be part of the program as will boat trips, fishing and camping trips (to be arranged with the Chesapeake Bay Foundation Anacostia office and the Earth Conservation Corps).

The Saturday Environmental Academy will hopefully instill in the students a lifelong interest in ecology and their natural surroundings and help set them on a path of academic achievement.
