INITIAL PARTNER
CONGREGATIONS DESIRING TO BEGIN TO EXPLORE THE CONNECTION BETWEEN THEIR
FAITH AND LOCAL ENVIRONMENTAL AND COMMUNITY STEWARDSHIP
- Establish a point of contact within the congregation to receive news
and informational materials as well as notification of hands-on activity
and educational opportunities for wider distribution to congregational
members.
FULL PARTNER
CONGREGATIONS DESIRING TO MORE ACTIVELY ASSISTING THE ANACOSTIA RIVER
AND ITS COMMUNITIES BY COMMITTING TO THE FOLLOWING THREE ACTIVITIES
- Incorporating ecological stewardship into one or more worship services
during the year
- Participating in at least one Anacostia watershed clean up or restoration
activity with another faith community or community-based organization
- Learning how to be effective public advocates for the Anacostia River
and communities
SUSTAINING PARTNER
CONGREGATIONS DESIRING TO DEEPEN THEIR IMPACT ON THE ANACOSTIA RIVER ANDCOMMUNITIES
BY COMMITTING TO TWO ADDITIONAL ACTIVITIES ANNUALLY
- Implementing a project to reduce water pollution from congregational
building and grounds.
- Making a $250 to $500 financial contribution to the Religious Partnership
for the Anacostia to make activities available to others.
- Holding meetings with local elected officials to discuss issues of
importance to the Anacostia River and its communities.
- Designing and implementing Anacostia River or Anacostia community
stewardship service projects for congregational youth.
- Sponsoring an Anacostia River or Anacostia community educational public
forum activity open to the local neighborhood.
- Mentoring Earth Conservation Corps members or Saturday Academy students
